Mental Health Awareness Week 2025: Let’s Keep Moving, for Mind and Body
Mental Health Awareness Week takes place from Monday 12th to Sunday 18th May, and this year’s theme is “Movement: Moving More for Our Mental Health.” It’s a timely reminder that even small amounts of physical activity can have a big impact on how we feel, both physically and mentally.
At Slee Blackwell Solicitors, we recognise that mental health is just as important as physical health, and both are essential for living well and working well. The legal profession, by nature, often comes with long hours, high expectations, and emotionally demanding work. That’s why it’s more important than ever to take a proactive approach to looking after our wellbeing.
Movement is one of the simplest and most effective ways to do that. Whether it’s a lunchtime walk, a few minutes of stretching at your desk, or a full workout—getting your body moving can help clear your mind, lift your mood, and reduce stress. It doesn’t have to be complicated or time-consuming; it’s about finding what works for you and making it a regular part of your day.
Mental Health Awareness Week also gives us an opportunity to reflect on how we support one another. It’s about creating a workplace where people feel able to speak up, take a break when they need to, and ask for help without judgment. Fostering that kind of environment doesn’t happen by accident, it takes ongoing awareness, open conversations, and a genuine commitment to each other’s wellbeing.
We want to encourage everyone to make their mental health a priority, not just this week, but every week. That might mean taking a bit of time for yourself, checking in with a colleague, or simply being kind to your body and mind.
Let’s keep the momentum going by supporting one another, moving more, and continuing to build a culture where wellbeing isn’t just encouraged, it’s part of who we are.
