We understand that the breakdown of a relationship is one of the most stressful things anyone can go through in life. At our Taunton office, we combine a caring and compassionate approach to Family Law with a responsive and above all, cost effective service. We provide realistic advice about what’s best for you and what it is likely to cost.
We are totally transparent on legal fees. Where appropriate we offer fixed fees so you know exactly what you will be paying. If your case isn’t something we can do on a fixed fee basis we will tell you why and explain what the alternatives are. For a menu of the fixed fee Family Law services we offer CLICK HERE.
We’ll make sure that your legal costs are reviewed regularly so you don’t get any nasty surprises at the end. If something changes in your case that means a potential increase in your costs, we will tell you straight away so that you can decide how you want to proceed.
We are members of the Law Society’s specialist Family and Children Panels. We also belong to Resolution and embrace a non-confrontational approach to family disputes along with a ‘solution focused’ philosophy. This approach helps minimise both stress and costs.
Mediation and ‘collaborative law’ are also on offer where it’s appropriate, but if there is no alternative to court proceedings we’re not afraid to recommend a robust approach if that’s what’s needed.
Free Initial Consultation
Our Somerset Family Law team can help with a wide range of Family Law problems. We offer all new Family Law clients an initial telephone consultation free of charge. We can assess the legal issues and provide guidance on the action to be taken. We can also consider what the best funding arrangement is likely to be, including our fixed price services.
Out of Hours Service
We offer flexible appointments and can see you by arrangement before 9.00 am or after 5.00pm.
Although Legal Aid has been severely cut back by Government, it remains available in certain cases involving children if deemed serious enough (regardless of financial circumstances) or instances involving domestic violence and where clients are participating in family mediation.
