At 12 noon on 30 November 2016 staff at our Taunton and Barnstaple offices will begin pedaling on static bikes to clock up as many miles as they can in 24 hours.

We are therefore seeking generous sponsors, with all the proceeds of the event going to childrens’ charity, the NSPCC.

The NSPCC is a cause close to our heart. We are particularly passionate about the NSPCC’s work in abuse prevention. As lawyers we deal with cases where abuse has already taken place. While we may be able to obtain financial recompense for some of the victims, we cannot turn back the clock. It is painfully obvious to us that money alone cannot come close to repairing the damage that abuse victims suffer. That’s why it is so important to do everything we possibly can to avoid abuse occurring in the first instance.

As NSPCC supporter, John Cleese, has said:

" Knowing that there’s something we can do to prevent child abuse, how will we explain that we had the chance to change the future – and didn’t?"

The NSPCC’s fantastic "Speak Out Stay Safe" programme aims to ensure that a generation of children have the knowledge and understanding they need to stay safe from abuse and neglect.

More information about the programme and the NSPCC’s work can be found here: www.nspcc.org.uk
